The Cous Cous Fest is an important moment to meet new people and new culture talking about a simple dish. The Mediterranean cuisine, the food passion, the cultural exchange and the integration among peoples are very strong in this time .
Since 1998, during the last week of September, there is the famous Cous Cous Fest, one of the most interesting food events in the summer of San Vito Lo Capo.
It can be considered a challenge for all those people interested in the culinary world.Â
Every year famous Chefs, arrive in this corner of western Sicily, from all over the world. They cook together original recipes of cous cous surrounded by an increasingly large and attentive public.
The festival lasts a week in which in addition to taste the Cous Cous you can participate in cultural events, cooking workshops, talk shows and seminars, while in the evening, in the main square of San Vito Lo Capo there are liveÂ music and shows. The Cous Cous, in the beautiful surroundings of San Vito Lo Capo, is not just a simple dish, but the desire of a better world.
Every night, a different artist performs on the stage next to the Sanctuary.
Because the journey between cultures also takes place through the encounter and the discovery of new rhythms and melodies.
The Stage of Cous Cous Fest, for many years now, is home to the most famous musicians and sensitive to the issue of peace, thus contributing to a continuing dialogue between peoples.
All shows are free.
THE RACE AND THE JURY
Chefs from around the world participate at the challenge.
For the first time during the last edition there were 10 countries that participated in the international culinary competition: Morocco, Tunisia, Libya, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Israel, Palestine, Italy, France, USA.
A jury, composed of journalists, chefs and food and wine experts, chaired by Paolo Marchi, presents the award for "Best Cous Cous Jury" and also two special prizes.
The technical jury is supported by a popular jury composed of over one hundred jurors who, after tasting the recipes by chefs, express their opinion by voting via palette numbered.
The jury is open to anyone who wants to join.
Across the country during the event becomes a great gastronomic laboratory permanent.
The most original recipes and traditional flavors come together in a celebration that gives space to the imagination, but that does not forget the tradition.
In gastronomic village, there are many stands where you can taste more than 30 different recipes for couscous ... choosing will be a problem!
Cannot miss the traditional Sicilian cannoli, cassatelle or almond cookies ... of course combined with local wines. For those who wish, however, to learn how to make couscous and discover the technique “dell'incocciatura”, may attend classes taught in the many gastronomic workshops.
It consists of two coupons. The first gives the right to a portion of couscous and a glass of wine. The second, however, is to taste a typical Sicilian dessert. The ticket costs 10 Euros, you can buy from 12.00 to 24.00 at the three ticket offices of the event.

HOUSE OF THE WORLD COUS COUS
In Via Regina Margherita, corner of Via Abruzzi, you will taste the international variations of cous cous: a triumph of flavors with exotic ingredients.
HOUSE OF SAN VITO LO CAPOÂ COUS COUS
The most fragrant recipes of the territory are in via Venza. Here you can find, in addition to the couscous, even some traditional dishes as busiate with pesto Trapanese.
HOUSE OF THE MEDITERRANEAN COUS COUS

Throughout the week, you can attend the Cous Cous Lab, where you can taste the recipes prepared directly from renowned Chef, in a friendly atmosphere and relaxing, listening to their stories.
